About the Course
Diverse populations require diverse approaches to crisis intervention and de-escalation - there's no one-size-fits-all approach. What would you do if someone came storming in during a psychotic episode? What about an Autism meltdown?
Learn key crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to employ when working with people with mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities. Students will discuss utilizing effective communication strategies, compassion, and influence to positively change behaviors, both in-field and in-office.
